About Me:
Wow, DTS is over already. I'm amazed at how much God has grown me. He is so faithful! I know He speaks to me and that He loves me incredibly much! He began the good work in me will carry it on to completion... "discipleship training school" isn't finished yet! I'm excited about where He is going to take me and what He is going to lead me into. What now? I think He's calling me back on staff, and while I hope it's SOONER rather than later, He's told me "wait". So I am. I love you guys!

Hello! I am totally excited to be going to the Jan 2009 DTS!!! Until I get there and meet all of you, here is some info about me: I am college student from Alaska, USA, who was homeschooled K-12 (and proud of it!). I enjoy reading any sort of literature and may often be found curled up reading Rose in Bloom, Pride & Prejudice, or Jane Eyre for the umpteenth time. Besides being a bookworm, I love to web design and hope to one day enter ministry in either that field or graphic design, which is very similar. My other interest include basketball, history, singing, and my violin. If I can ever get them down, snowboarding and knitting might also someday be listed among my hobbies. Oh, and however I might come across online, I'm actually a kind of quiet and reserved person... :P So, be warned and not offended... lol.

It is such a crazy complicated story about how I came to be led to RTO and rather hard to share all the ins and outs of it, but here is the basic story in a nutshell! One of my really good friends attended the October DTS last year and had a totally awesome experience during which she really grew stronger in her relationship with God. She was constantly telling how great it was and I pretty much thought, "Oh cool, sounds like fun" without having much interest. I've been trying to find a good design program at a Christian college in the states without much luck. I'm really interested in the Media & Design field, so when I heard that RTO had a Media program and remembered what an awesome time my friend had, I was suddenly interested. Sounds awful, doesn't it? Well, I started contacting Amelia about attending a DTS, but when I discovered that it would line up nicely to come in Jan 09 and attend the media program directly afterwards, I just kind of let the idea sit for several months. When I started getting back in touch this June, Ania told me that the Media program was on hold! I was really bummed! Up to this point I hadn't really thought TOO much about the DTS and kind of viewed it merely as a step to get me to the secondary school. At this point God asked me, "Are you doing this for Me? Do you really want to do missions? Or are you just in it for the fun times and Media stuff?" I was forced really seriously reconsider everything and prayed, and finally came to the conclusion that, yes, I DID want to go to the DTS--with or without the Media program. Not for me, but I felt that God really wants me to go. It has been such a humbling lesson to turn my life fully over to God (WAY still struggling with that one though!). Now I am totally excited about what God is going to do in January!!! I know that whether or not the Media school happens, it is totally in God's plan for me and that I just need to trust Him! I am so ready for the mission training and for the opportunity to serve God on another shore. Yay, I can't wait!
