haha you're right that it's a very broad question to ask just about the dts experience in general. but wow it really was incredible. it was a time of coming to really know who i am in Christ, a time of understanding, of revelation of simple truths, of challenge for my life, of renewal of calling and purpose that God has on my life, it was a necessary time for reflection, breathing time, searching, wondering, seeking, and especially finding and knowing and understanding. it was really a time of awakening to my spirit. i've never grown so much in a six month period in my faith or in my life in general. it was difficult yet also so much fun and exciting and worth everything i had done to get there. it changed my life. that was my dts experience. there's no going back. it was incredible. everything and more than i could have expected it to be. haha how is that for summing up dts!?! hahah. hope you're doing great, robyn! hope to hear what you are thinking about RTO or your christian walk in general! :)

Robyn, hey, thanks for the response.
GOD, Yahweh-God, is so good and I praise His Name for groups like YWAM who work hard to get real saving personal faith into young people. I my own denomination, in all of Canada, Camrose Lutheran Bible Institute, is all we have put together. I guess that's why in North America, though not world wide, we are shrinking in members as our young graduate to life with no real faith to live by or protect them.

well, even by your interest in RTO i can tell you for SURE that God has TONS more in store for you in your life! sorry it took me so long to respond! i was travelling in new zealand and just made it back home to canada this week. anyways, yes i did just finish with RTO. it was INCREDIBLE. i did a DTS with them and it was the best 6 months of my life for sure. God absolutely revolutionized my world and i have never been more content with how my life is and where it's going (although i really have no idea where it's going!) I don't think YWAM is really accredited in canada (although im not positive) but you come out of DTS with a Certificate III in Discipleship. so i mean the actual certificate looks pretty cool! haha but it's not like it would help you in college really. but still, it DEFINITELY helps your life in general! if you have any more questions, just let me know!

Robyn,
I live north of you by many miles and across the border, (say at Niagara Falls) then on for another 3 and a half or four hours by car. I live 50 miles south of the Canadian city of North Bay, Ontario. There are Messianic congregations in Toronto but regular attendance is not possible. As Christians we should look to the Jewishness of our Lord Jesus and think hard on our relationship with God's Chosen people.
Shalom,
Rick

Hi Robyn,
I fell into an appreciation of the Jewish roots of the faith I had in Jesus by discovering a Jewish group Lema'an Zion who speak out on the political truths of the middle east problem and also do charitable work among the poor who have emigrated to Israel (Aliyah). I studied a lot and found out that much of Christian tradition is in lace due to Christian anti-Semetism. My life in the church has taught me that Christians are oh so very human and so are Jews. One good book is "The Trouble with Christians, The Trouble with Jews" by Zola Levitt. I would love to experience life in a messianic Jewish synagogue, but the nearest is 300km away.
Shalom, Rick

Hey, it's good to hear back from you and so exciting to hear that God has called you to missions. I know it can be scarey at first and challenging once you've taken the plunge, but God is so faithful and honestly there's nothing better than being where He's called you to be! You know the song "Better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere"... it's so true and it's something that has really spoken to me! Keep me posted on your adventures and hopefully I'll get to see you out here some day! Blessings!!

Hey Robyn! So you're interested in YWAM? Are you looking into doing a DTS? What are you up to at the current time?

I was noticing the reflection of a camera in one of your photos and it looked like it was an SLR (higher end camera model) of some sort :) Random question, but I had to ask. haha
That's cool. I love photography myself. Haven't studied it in school but exploring the web you can find heaps of sites that will give you advice and practice for free.
Are you looking into doing a DTS here?
