Back from PNG

Hello everyone..

We have now been back from PNG for over a week. Png was such a great experience for me, and I hope to go back there someday! I spent 3 weeks in the highlands in a village called Wau. Our programs were planned out when we got there, so we planned what we wanted to do for the hour or 2 we had for the program, and then had a lot of time to spend getting to know the locals or playing with the kids. Wherever we went though, we always had our friends from seven block going with us. S… Continue

PNG

Hey everyone,

I'm learning a lot here at reef to outback...lectures have been great as usual. Since my last post, I've seen some cool aussie animals and got to hold a koala bear, snake, and baby croc. check out the pics on facebook! The last few weeks we have really seen God provide, and all of the finances to get us to Papau New Guinea came in. God worked out every detail and really blessed our group. We leave tonight at 10:30 to drive up to Cairnes, then fly out tomorrow morning to Papau New… Continue

This week...

This past week of lectures was crazy!! The director of our base spoke about having a clear conscience. His talks were soo good! I felt like I learned a lot about God and His purposes for us, as well as how to bring things out into the open so you can begin healing. This week seemed to go by faster than the last one, but I hope it slows down a bit. We had our first outreach prep on tues. They started by giving us a packing list, and telling us we had 15 min to go to our rooms, pack everything, th… Continue

The Strand

Saturday was my first trip to the strand, which is the local beach. It's about a 45 min-an hour walk, so i've heard, but a few girls and myself took a taxi. They have a rock pool, which is where we'll need to swim once jellyfish season starts. The rock pool is man-made, so it's not exactly like swimming in the ocean, but I like it because you don't have to worry about all the creatures. So we went swimming then went for a walk down the rest of the strand, and into town a little bit. Sat night wa… Continue

Week one was sweet as!

Hey everyone!

Well, I've officially been here a week( well, technically in two hours it will be a week), and so far I love it! It has exceeded my expectaions of what it would be like here. The first few days we had a lot of free time, but we are now in the full swing of things with our schedule. I had a great time this past week getting to know everyone(there are 37 of us in the october dts) and really like the group of people i will be here with.

On thursday we started our weekly schedule for… Continue
