About Me:
Well I really have no idea what to say here... I never quite know what to put other than talk to me and find out! But I guess I'll at least give some basics and random comments!

My name is Chelsea, and I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I plan on being in missions for life, though I'm not sure what that looks like yet, and will be with YWAM RTO for a significant period of time. After I finish my DTS I will be doing both my IPHC (Introduction to Primary Healthcare in missions) and my BCC (Biblical Core Course), and then possibly looking into doing a staff internship! I'm incredibly excited to continue my adventures out here over the next couple years! If you would like to partner with me and support me then please feel free to contact me anytime, I'd be happy to talk to you about where I'm at and what God has been showing me. Every bit of support helps more than you know, whether financial, prayer, or simple friendship. If you click the button next to this you can donate online!

On a different note...
I look like a major girly girl because I always wear skirts and dresses (I shock people on the rare occassion I wear jeans... and that's not an overexaggeration...), but I'm a tomboy at heart. I love the outdoors! Camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, snorkelling, horseback riding, and catching/watching wildlife are some of my favorite things to do! I'm a major geek when it comes to wildlife, so please forgive me... I WILL want to catch every little lizard and frog and bug I see if I know it won't kill me... And we won't even talk about what I'm like around tidepools... :D I'm bad with sports though... mainly because stupid things beyond my control happen to me whenever I play sports and I end up on crutches... Ask me about how I got banned from gym class. It'll give you some good laughs and looks of incredulity....
I love to read. My room has become a library, filled with books of all sorts. I actually have people who come to my house to sign out books from my collection...
My greatest love though is music. It moves me in ways nothing else can and connects to my spirit like nothing else as well. I play piano and plan on learning violin and guitar soon... I also love to sing and have an extensive collection of music... partly because I was put in charge of running the music department in a christian store for over a year and I couldn't possibly resist when I got to hear everything before it even came out! Because of that job I also got selected to judge a few music awards which was wonderful fun! I wish I had more talent in music because I would love to go into some sort of music ministry... but for now I'll just enjoy it to the fullest!
I smile all the time. I'm not kidding. People think it's weird. They see me smiling and seem to think there's something wrong or it's for a particular reason... most of the time it's not. lol. I just kind of got in the habit. I figure, even if life really sucks and nothing seems to be going my way... it's better to smile than frown. If you smile enough eventually your heart has to smile too... and doesn't seeing someone genuinely smile at you make your day that much brighter? I just take my joy where I can when I can... and let it show. Why keep it locked up inside where no one can share in it? So basically, if you see me smiling at you randomly and think it's weird and wonder why... I'm probably just smiling! :)

Well... I've about exhausted my prattle about myself... so... now if you want to know more you'll have to talk to me! Tell me about yourself!

Now that I've been to the Isa, Does that make me a REAL aussie? (PART 3)

Isa Part 3: The adventure continues! (cheesy cheesy cheesy...)

Now, I'm getting to the point where I don't remember what order most of these stories come in, so bear with me.
One of the first days we were on outreach someone had arranged for a scavenger hunt of sorts "downtown" in Mt Isa. They gave us a time limit, a sheet of questions to fill out, and sent us off in groups. It was fun! But pretty hard... a lot of people didn't seem to have any of the answers! Every time we asked someone they w… Continue

Now that I've been to the Isa, Does that make me a REAL aussie? (PART 2)

At last! The continuation of Part 1!
So I left off with us finally making it to Isa and getting settled into our dongas. Luckily we didn't have anything scheduled for that day so we could simply relax and take in our surroundings, getting schedules and "work duties" worked out for our time there. We had a lovely meal at Ben's home and got to meet his wonderful parents and younger brother. Then we headed off for bed, making sure we gave ourselves plenty of time for sleep and to be ready in the mo… Continue

Now that I've been to the Isa, does that make me a real Aussie? (PART 1)

Well I'm back from Mt. Isa! It's good to be home again... and boy do I have a lot to tell you about the last 3 weeks! Sorry this took so long to put up but I had several problems with the RTO server for a few days and then my laptop broke so it was hard to find opportunity to do an update! Things on here are a little scattered timeline-wise for the same reason... but I think I managed to get everything I wanted to say... Anyways, here goes!

Well our outreach began pretty normal. It was a fine A… Continue
