YWAM - Australia Reef to Outback

Hi All, well thanks to everyone that's joined so far and taken the new site for a whirl. Please use this Discussion to add any comments you have about the site, reccomendations, encouragments, questions and more. It's a work in progress and something that as far as we know YWAM has never done (to this extent) so we're really interested to hear your feedback. Thanks again for helping us to break new ground!

How do I add pictures to mypage? I got one, but that is it. I need to get my hands on a copy of RTO social networking for dummies.

Hi Brad .. anytime you are looking at a photo on the site you should see a +add photo button on the top right. You'll also see that link on the home page underneath the big set of photos in the middle column. It's the same principle for other things like videos as well. If you are logged in any activities that you perform will be added to your own page.

The text size of the drop down menus in our personal pages is bigger and doesn't look as good as it does on the main page

I know. When you choose a new Theme along with that comes a new style for the drop down menu's. It's on the todo list to try and fix that.

Mel and I would like to do a single page together, what are our options? Can we get another blog on there? Also can we change the titles of each section? Eg. Mel's Blog 7 Brad's Blog. What else could we do?

Hi Brad. Well it looks like you already have page together. As for multiple blogs on the Page I don't think that's possible at the moment. One thing you could do is use tags for your different blog posts. If you have a look at http://reeftooutback.ning.com/profiles/blog/list?tag=sandor&use... you'll see that you can filter blog entries on tags. You could create hardcoded links in your "About Us" section pointing to Brad Blogs and Mel Blogs seperately.

Ok, I think I got it. Check out my page and see what you think.

FYI Just in case you didn't notice, you have still not responded to a couple of my previous comments in this discussion.

Good work. You got those Tagged Blogs Going Well.

When I click on my photos on my page, it diverts back to the RTO background and theme for displaying my photos. It makes it feel a bit weird, like you have just left my section.

Also, would it be good to have some sort of disclaimer at the bottom of peoples personal pages. Eg. The comments, stories, and pictures are the expressed ideas of the individual and may not reflect RTO's views etc...just a thought.

Ok, same problem with the videos, My personal videos end up as the first thing someone sees when come to the home page.

Bill reminded me today that we can set both home page videos and photos to "Featured Only" which means your personal photos and videos won't show up. I've set that up now so should be no more issues for you.
